My Policies
Fees
I do not accept any forms of insurance, nor do I work directly with insurance companies (outside of sessions) apart from medication preauthorization. Upon request, we will provide a receipt that your insurance company may use for reimbursement, depending on your “out-of-network provider” benefits. Payment is due at the time services are provided. We do not accept credit cards.
Video conference/phone appointments
I will sometimes allow follow-up appointments to take place via video conference or telephone, approved on a case-by-case basis. These sessions are to be initiated by the patient (by calling me) at the precise time their appointment is to begin.
Unused appointments
If you are scheduled for an appointment at a given time, that time will be reserved for you and you alone (we do not overbook). If you need to make a change to either the time of the session or its length, please notify Laurie (office@drmajeres.com) more than one full business day beforehand. If not, you will be charged for the full fee of the appointment that you had reserved, regardless of whether this appointment was used or not.
Controlled prescriptions
I do not prescribe stimulant medications.
Emails
I do not discuss medication questions, psychotherapeutic issues, or any private matters via email. For any such questions, please call 888-464-1800, extension 3 and leave a message; I will call you back within one business day. If it is urgent, please call again. If it is an emergency, please call 911 and then notify me immediately. Please assume that the office staff will be able to read any email sent to me. Requests for appointments, changes in appointment times, and requests for receipts should all be sent directly to Laurie at office@drmajeres.com.
Recording sessions
Sessions can be audio recorded, so that the content can be reviewed or exercises can be repeated at home. If you would like me to make a recording, you will need to sign a consent form for audio recording. You are free to record the sessions on your own device at any time, provided you notify me in advance. The premises at 22 Hilliard Street are under security video surveillance without audio at all times.
